I’m here at the lab of Denver’s central library helping out with a free, public HTML/CSS basics class the technology center offers. Closing the digital divide! *Fist pump*
The benefits are two-fold:
1. I’m climbing Maslow’s stairs towards self-actualization by helping other people.
2. And it’s air-conditioned in here.
I volunteer in the library’s technology center and it has become my second home in Denver. To be honest, I don’t make the retreat often enough because of work and because, unlike the absurd university hours I’m used to, the library has modest business hours…but each time I come I am awash with happiness. It’s such a beautiful building and being surrounded by books makes me incredibly happy.
What I’m I working on? This website of course. I’m so excited about finally publishing this, and with the help of the extraordinary developer.
